Feeding Frenzy

I am no longer an affiliate feed virgin! Spent last night being initiated into the ways of the sql feed...ok, the truth is Jason kindly helped me out (what a star!) and I made the tea. Today i played around with the results and added content for the spanish wine section. Tough job, talking about my favourite tipple! All that writing about spanish wine did make me thirsty, so i ended up buying a bargain case of red with 3 free bottles of Rioja from Laithwaites.

Rioja has got to be my favourite red wine - but thats not the only type of wine you can get from Spain! Click here! to visit our In2Spanish wine section and check out the variety of wines available courtesy of Oddbins. BTW Oddbins offer a 5% case discount :-)

Torture...

After having yesterday off have been hard back at work today - had a nice distraction this afternoon when we were treated to a spectacular water display thanks to the builders going through a mains supply. Who needs to go all the way to Vegas for the Bellagio fountains? No dancing to music though - in case you are wondering what the hell i'm on about, here's a link to the Bellagio website Bellagio Fountains So we're now without water, which is a bit of a blow as i've been to the gym...poor Jason! :-)

This evenings "torture" was a circuit training class run by an extremely dedicated but scary bloke called Jim. I am trying to get in shape (completely unfit at the moment btw) ready for the 22 Mile Gower Walk in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief on the 3rd Sept this year. It's 22 miles from Rhossili down to Bracelet Bay near Mumbles and is great fun! I did the whole walk last year with my mum and buddy in 7 1/2 hours and we are planning to complete it again this year. That pint of Carling at the end was the best ever! If you would like more info on the walk or about Macmillan, here comes the link http://www.macmillan.org.uk/supportus/inarea.asp?region=4&area=157&option=2

The Webmaster's Curse

Why does a "It will only take 10 minutes" job turn into a 2 hour hair puller? No, it's not a joke, it's the bane of a webmasters Saturday morning. I decided to "tweak" the css file on my german and In2French sites this morning - quick job, no probs out for the day (yeah right!) . While doing the french site i discovered a whole host of errors which had to be sorted out: broken links, crappy coding (opps), January sales banners, closed merchant affiliate programs... argh!
Things rediscovered today- 1)Tidy up your coding, 2)Check pages still work on sites you may have created a while back and 3)Never rely on a merchant to update seasonal banners (grrr)

To chill out, i ended up at the gym and caught up with the second half of the Stade Francais and Biarritz Heineken Cup semi final - wow, Biarritz were robbed! I nearly fell off the treadmill when the Stade Francais try was allowed after a knock on ( or two). If you can bear to read the match report - here's a link Sky Sports Rugby Report

Ii'm off, James Martin is talking about mincing his pork (?!) should be fun!

One small step...

The first line is always the hardest... i always find getting started takes longer then writing a whole thousand word essay! The aim of this blog is to keep a regular diary of stuff i've been up to and (fingers crossed!) make me a tad more productive workwise. I guess this will end up like all my diaries from my younger years; a flurry of indepth entries, then bugger all for the rest of the year!
